Wendy Perron's dance history class of first-year Juilliard dancers visited the library on February 1, 2023. Jane Gottlieb, Vice President for Library and Information Resources, provided an overview of library resources, and Archives Director Jeni Dahmus Farah discussed the challenges of documenting dance, and shared rare materials with the class. The archival show-and-tell included Risa Steinberg's famous letter from 1968 that helped to save Juilliard's dance department, dance notation scores, costume designs from Doris Humphrey's Descent into the Dream (1956), and photos of Martha Hill, José Limón, Robert Battle, Jane Kosminsky, Ohad Naharin, and Pina Bausch from their Juilliard days.
